23 Weeks! - Our Little Ruler

Here we are at 23 weeks! The time has slowed only slightly, but there is still a lot to do in preparation, so i'm staying busy. Our little Ruler is still growing and putting lots of pressure on my belly.. quite a strange feeling I must say! The kicks and punches are MUCH more noticable. I can't wait to see him! :)

----- What Baby Robbins is up to:

Your baby is reaching 12 inches long and weighs just over a pound. His skin is red and wrinkled. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare him for breathing. He can swallow, but he normally won't pass his first stool (called meconium) until after birth. Loud noises heard often in utero — such as your dog barking or the roar of a vacuum cleaner — probably
won't faze your baby when he hears them outside the womb. He or she is continuing to develop facial features and you are probably feeling a lot of movement as your baby continues to explore its body and world in the comfort of his or her own personal "living womb." Your baby now has eyes that open and close, ears that can hear, and a thumb well worth sucking (the baby's finger nails are also almost fully formed) If you feel your baby making regular, jerky movements, don't panic - your baby has the hiccups! The hiccups are harmless for baby but can be annoying for you if they last for a long period of time.
