Dentistry in Dallas

Our family traveled to Dallas this past weekend to have some dental work done. "That's a strange trip to take", you may be thinking. Well, Robby had some major work he needed done and I had a couple of teeth that needed some attention. Robby's friend Jack works as a dentist in Dallas and was nice enough to board us and do the work. So, Thursday, after Robby's cycling class at LAFitness, we hopped in the car and painfully drove to Dallas. It was quite a feat so late at night. We rolled in at 2:30 in the morning and quickly hit the sack. We rose bright and early to head to the office. I wasn't sure if I was going to have anything done until halfway through the day. Robby was getting finished and they figured since I was there they would go ahead and see what i needed done too. Needless to say, Robby and I finished the day with droopy mouths from being numbed. We couldn't help but laugh at each other.

Jack and his wife Laura took us all to Houston's afterwards and we enjoyed some good food. Surprisingly, they had a few vegetarian meals to choose from. Rylen even got a taste of a few of my goodies. Upon arriving back at their house, Rylen was greeted by their very energetic dogs: Emma, Lucy, Milly, and Katie.
They had Rylen running around screaming with delight. He did have to get accustomed to their barking at first, but once he got used to it, he was running all over the kitchen. Unfortunately, Friday night Rylen got sick and we thought it was due to getting all excited and the food from Houston's. As this week has progressed, we have discovered that he probably got a stomach flu bug. We believe we are in the last stages of that bug now and hopefully will be free and clear by next week.

We spent Saturday nursing Rylen's sickness and hanging out with Jack and Laura talking healthy eating and dentistry. It is amazing that problems with your teeth or having silver fillings can actually cause you problems in other parts of your body.

Sunday we said goodbye and headed to church to meet up with James & Wendy Chandler and Steve-o, our Hungarian friend. Then it was time to head back to Houston. The trip was wearing and we were definitely glad to be back home.

Thanks again Jack & Laura for a wonderful stay in Dallas! Hopefully we'll be back to visit again soon!
