Our Shrimp

Here we are at 13 weeks and this is the last week of the first trimester. This time has really just flown by and I have had only minor instances of "morning" sickness. Mine typically was in the evening anyway. I went for my 2nd OB appt this morning and Stephanie Edmonds was so wonderful to watch Rylen and let him have a play date with Colter. The appointment for today was going to be the blood work and women's wellness check with exam, so it was going to be a bit extensive for Rylen to sit through. Not to mention, I was an hour late getting into the appointment because Karen had a delivery to do right when my appointment was supposed to start, so I had to wait. She even got buzzed at the end of my appointment to head back to the hospital for another delivery. It was a crazy day for her! But she was wonderful and didn't make me feel rushed at all. We found the baby's heart beat with the doppler and it came in at 160 beats. So, PERFECT! I believe i had gained 1 lb since the last visit, so, from my calculations I have gained about 6-7lbs total. Pretty good for the first trimester. Karen said that I was heading down the right track and everything seemed to be going the way it should. We'll see how my bloodwork turns out next appointment.

Here's our baby's progress!
----
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head — which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce.
