Our Turnip

Here we are at 17 weeks! Almost halfway there! It is going so very fast. I'm sure Rylen makes sure of that. I had my appointment with Karen and the baby's heartbeat was quickly found at 143 beats. That was a big reassurance. I have felt so... not pregnant lately, that I was hoping that everything was going as it should. Isn't it funny how we will worry regardless of how we feel. If we feel good we worry, if we feel bad we worry. Well, I am progressing just as I should and everything look great! Next month we will have our ultrasound to find out if Rylen will be having a brother or a sister. The appointment will be on January 5th. I am beyond excited to find out.

Well here is the baby's update!

Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
