Our Rutabaga

Well, whatever a rutabaga is, that is the size of our little tot. I actually read that it is a swedish or yellow turnip.. So, there you go.

I am here at 25 weeks and definitely not relishing in pregnancy. Rylen is still keeping me on my toes and has taken the past couple of weeks to remind what it is like to wake up at 2:00am or 3:00am in the morning. We are still trying to figure out why... teeth? separation? feeling the new baby? still needs two naps? I know the last one seems odd, but ironically the days that he has been able to have his two naps he has slept through the night. So much for the theory that babies will sleep better if you wear them out! Anyway, I have also begun watching Samantha Siefers (3 mo old) until April 9th. She is really a pretty easy baby to keep as long as Rylen lets me get my sleep! HA! It is a nice transition period for all of us. I am able to see what it is like to juggle two and also how Rylen will react. So far so good! Rylen thinks babies are so neat and wants to help out. He throws away diapers (only the wet ones) for me and fetches me things if I need them. Our only issue is when he decides he needs to be held and I can't at that second. He isn't used to sharing, but hopefully this will help him learn a bit of that. So, pregnancy? I only feel it in the wee hours of morning when I get up and he starts rolling in my belly or I look in the mirror and think "Wow, my belly IS getting big!". This one might actually be the one that wakes me up at night. Who knows.

Well, here is our little rutabaga!

Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture. (What color will it be??)
