INP Activity - Toothettes

Doing all of these activities sometimes brings us back to the reason we began pursuing anything with Rookie...the speech. When you do "weird" activities, sometimes you question if you are accomplishing what you set out to do aside from what someone else says needs to be accomplished also. Well, this is one of those activities. I have bought a box of 250 of these "Dentips" as the box calls them....or "toothettes" as they are also called. We use two a day, morning and night. For one minute we rub these sponges on the inside of his mouth, cheek, tongue, gums, teeth, etc. By doing this, we are stimulating the nerves in the mouth and resolving the need to chew, thumb suck and YES articulation issues!! I wish I would have known about this when he was a baby! I would have been using these LONG AGO! Needless to say, we have seen a HUGE decrease in his need to put things in his mouth and the crayons at our house are thankful! At the beginning, Rookie wanted to do this activity, but as time progressed he has come to not like it so much. I think that is a VERY GOOD sign!
